Junior High Agriscience
SEMESTER CLASS: Students may choose to remain in this class all year with parent permission.
Junior High Agriscience is designed to explore the fields of agriculture, food, and natural resources. This course will focus on exploring careers in the AFNR industry and further developing leadership skills. As part of this class, students will be participating in leadership contests and ag skills contests.

Zoology
Zoology is the scientific study of animals. This course will focus on animal anatomy & physiology, animal genetics & reproduction, domestic animal production, animal health & nutrition, and agricultural business & marketing. As part of this class, students will be participating in leadership contests, and ag skills contests. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in the poultry improvement (broiler) contest.

Botany
Botany is the scientific study of plants. This course will focus on plant anatomy & physiology, soils & plant nutrition, plant culture & propagation, natural resource systems, environmental service systems, and integrated pest management. As part of this class, students will be participating in the soil judging contest, leadership contests, and ag skills contests.

Advanced Agriscience
Advanced Agriscience is designed to give students the opportunity to further dive into the AFNR industry. This course will be a rotating class and will focus on the following units:

Agriscience On-Job Training (OJT)
Agriscience On-Job Training experiences (OJTs) are an option for students who have completed Botany & Zoology and would like to gain more work experience through a half-day working position. Please contact Mrs. Yackle if you are interested in an OJT.

- Must complete weekly journal entries on AET.
- Must maintain eligibility in order to attend OJT weekly.
- Must have employer complete an evaluation each marking period.
